The East Lancashire Railway is a 12 mile heritage railway nestled in the picturesque Irwell Valley. The railway is an immaculately preserved piece of history, from the shining steam and diesel engines and the oh-so-cosy compartment carriages to the excellent customer facilities and knowledgeable and enthusiastic volunteers.
