Immerse yourself in the history and beauty of Flatford

Join us for a fascinating guided tour and explore the picturesque hamlet of Flatford as you learn about the life and works of John Constable, one of the most celebrated artists in British history. As you walk, see the iconic views that inspired Constable's masterpieces such as the Hay Wain and Flatford Mill.

Please note, these tours are operated by volunteers and are subject to last minute cancellation. If you are looking to join us specifically for this tour, we recommend contacting us ahead of time to confirm it will be running.

This event is free, but normal admission charges apply for the venue.

Speak to our team in the welcome hut when you arrive if you're interested in joining the daily tour.

This tour is more suitable for adults.

Visitor welcome hut in the car park.

This tour takes place outdoors, please dress appropriately for the weather.

Not all the usual route is accessible to wheelchair users, but speak to the guide on the day who may be able to amend the route for you.

Well behaved dogs on leads welcome on the tour.

The ancient hall of Valley Farm will be open to view, allowing visitors to look up at the blackened rafters and see the huge inglenook fireplace and medieval staircase.

Join the fun and go wild at the Flatford Nature Day. There will be craft activities to try, trails to follow and nature clues to hunt.
