5 Basketball Camps for Children

15 July 2023

Getting your children involved in sports at a young age is a great way to encourage them to lead a healthy and active lifestyle. It can also help them develop important skills such as teamwork, communication, and resilience. If your child is a keen basketball player, why not send them on a summer camp so they can improve their skills and make some new friends?

NBC Basketball Camp

NBC Camps UK runs a basketball camp for children aged 11 - 18 years old located at Uppingham School in Leicestershire. Their experienced and qualified coaches will provide your child with expert tuition so they can learn new skills, improve their technique, and develop their confidence on the court. The week-long camps are held during the school holidays so they won't interfere with your child's schooling, and there are residential and non-residential options available.

Nike Basketball Camp

Nike Basketball Camps offer two different types of camps: total basketball camps, or basketball and English language camps. The residential camps are suitable for children aged 12-17 years old, and you can choose from a 6-night camp or a 13-night camp. They are held at Bradfield private college in Reading during the summer holidays and include full board accommodation as well as all meals. The camps are led by former NBA star Eric Boateng, who also represented Team GB at the Olympics.

Eurocamp Residential Basketball Camp

Eurocamp is a basketball camp geared towards players who take their game seriously. It caters to all players aged from 10 to 23 and any abilities are welcome, from beginners to those who play in their school or club team. They offer five-day camps during the school holidays in locations across the UK, including Dundee, Portsmouth, and Barrow-In-Furness. The camps include full board accommodation and a range of fun activities such as coaching sessions, skill development drills, scrimmages, and competitions.

The London School Of Basketball Camp

The LBS runs basketball camps for children aged 7 - 17 years old in and around London during the summer and other school holidays. The camps are perfect for children of all abilities, and the experienced coaches will help your child improve their shooting, ball handling, passing, footwork, and defensive skills. During the 5 days, children will experience a mix of coaching sessions, scrimmages, competitions, and fun games. There are also international camps for children who want to experience playing basketball in different countries.

Red Star Basketball Camp

Based at Leeds Beckett University, Red Star Basketball Camp runs during the summer for children aged 11-18, whatever their ability. They offer a range of different activities, including coaching sessions, competitions, and games. There’s plenty of opportunities for kids to brush up on their skills and make new friends while having fun. There is also a residential option available for those from further afield.

There are a number of different basketball camps available for children of all ages across the UK. If you're looking for a camp that will provide your child with expert coaching, the above are excellent options. Whatever camp you choose, make sure to do some research in advance to ensure it's the right fit for your child.
