Summer Fete, Plant Sale & Craft Fair

Exeter fest, in it's second year, is Exeter's premium family festival in the heart of Exeter. Spread over the late May bank holiday, expect 3 days of free family music and activities with great local food, drink, arts and crafts. New for 2024 is the Exeter Fest after-dark experience which is a ticketed Music and cinema event with fun themes and big surprises!

Sanctioned Supercar Show

What is Sanctioned? An automotive event taking place four times a year. With a focus on variety and quality we welcome owners of hypercars, supercars, performance, classics and modified car's to join us, display their vehicles and enjoy interacting with others who all have one thing in common, a love of all things on four, three or two wheels. The indoor "Supercar Zone" will feature a hand picked collection of our finest cars all in one place. Being indoors, this area offers great lighting for photographers and can be enjoyed by all, no matter what the weather outside. Think Ferrari's, Lambourghi's, Mclaren's, Porsche and Aston Martin to name but a few. We will also have a supercar parade, featuring the sights and sounds of over 50 supercars.

In the Palm of Your Hand - Make a Protective Hamsa Hand

Join us to make and decorate your own hamsa hand out of clay, take it home and hang it somewhere to bring good luck and protection to you and your family. Throughout history, possibly as far back as ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia, humans have used the power of the 'hamsa' to protect them from evil. Many believe that the depiction of an open hand defends against the 'evil eye', others used it to protect pregnant women, or to strengthen the weak. It remains a popular symbol throughout North Africa and the Middle East today, and is often seen as a 'good luck' charm. Whatever the hamsa's exact origin, or the diverse meanings people take from it, these palm shaped amulets are items of exquisite beauty, carved or painted with intricate patterns, sometimes made from gold or silver, and often decorated with glittering jewels.

Magical Magic Lanterns

Roll up, roll up, and cast yourself as the director, creative producer and visionary behind your own movie … well, a few hand drawn slides of it anyway. Create your own magic lantern slides out of tracing paper, cardboard and oodles of imagination. And the best bit is you get to project your finished creations in all their glory using our genuine hundred year old Magic Lantern. Long before 4K TVs, surround sound and CGI-filled blockbusters, folks used to gather to see slides projected by a Magic Lantern, often accompanied by top-hat attired entertainers to tell the story as they flicked from one slide to the next. RAMM's collection holds over 4,500 Magic Lantern slides, dating from the earliest days of the museum. Some were used for education by the University College, others feature photographs of Exeter, the cathedral and other historic buildings from over a hundred years ago. But some were hand painted to entertain and delight an audience. They can be funny, scary, beautiful, cheeky, and sometimes even a little bit rude.
