Since 1993, thousands of families across the UK, have grown up singing, dancing & playing with Monkey Music. Written by musicians, who understand the fundamental role that music plays in early development, our progressive classes are an ‘excellent fit’ for babies & pre-schoolers. With the help of Monkey and Mo, catchy songs, fascinating sounds and fabulous props, our talented teachers captivate & entertain their troop of musical little monkeys. Everyone has so much fun learning, they don’t realise how clever they are being!
Music, Dance & Drama
Monkey Music is the highlight of our week! We love getting to sing, dance and play instruments in every session. Louise is wonderful; bright, shiny and enthusiastic, she makes learning about music such fun. She is absolutely the reason why we're still coming back for more every term two years since we began.
My daughter took this class from the age of six months until the age of four - she loved every minute of it. Louise was a superb and inspiring teacher, whose devotion and enthusiasm shines through. My youngest son has just started and shows every sign of enjoying this class every bit as much!
Monkey music is a brilliant class for babies. My son has attended since he was 7 months old - now he is 1 he has just started the Heigh Ho classes. He loves them. The high quality instruments, catchy songs and challenging, multi sensory activities are excellent.
Bethany trained as a professional musical theatre actress at Doreen Bird College in 2013. She has since gone on to work as a professional vocalist for P&O cruises as well as appear in several pantomimes and regional musicals. As well as being a Monkey Music teacher, Bethany also works as a dance instructor for Stagecoach and a creative assistant for Art Barn. Bethany is an aunty to 1 year old Amelie and loves surfing and slow cooking!
Emma is a very experienced actor and theatre director, having run her own touring theatre company. She has worked extensively with children using puppets, mime work and clowning. She says "I believe that using drama, mime, puppetry and music as early as possible in a child's life will encourage and foster the child's creativity and happiness in their future life."
Louise has been running Monkey Music classes in Clapham and Battersea for nearly 20 years. She is a trained teacher with a strong classical music background. She also plays the flute and sings in two bands in her spare time. She has two grown-up children who enjoy performing music.
I've been teaching Monkey Music for over 6 years now. Seeing the children expressing themselves through music & dance is wonderful. That first time you see one of the Rock'n'Roll babies shake a maraca is priceless, the Heigh-Ho's finding their feet and dancing around the room or Jiggety-Jigs joining in singing along to the songs. Monkey Music is definitely the highlight of my day.
Sarah has been teaching Monkey Music for over seven years. She has a bachelor of music degree from Goldsmiths University and still performs regularly as a singer. She particularly enjoys playing the drums with her little monkeys in class as she is very energetic and has enormous enthusiasm for her classes.
Windson started teaching in 2002 and joined Monkey Music in 2017.
