***Learn to order your gelato as a proper Italian: 'coppetta' or 'cono'?
***Let's celebrate Ferragosto, the Italian Summer Christmas falling on 15th August
***Ice and salt experiments: we'll make colourful suncatchers out of them and check how long they last

Meet the Team

Catarina Pires
Science Tutor

Catarina is Portuguese, has a degree in Environmental Health and worked in that area for some time. She loved to work with children and did some environmental education activities with some organisations in the past. After moving to London, she worked for a science toy company as an activity manager and a few years later she decided it was time to create her own project based on her own vision: Kids With Brains! She now provides daily after-school clubs in schools, as well as workshops and camps during the holiday. She also runs science parties on the weekends.

Cecilia Valente
Fun finance tutor

Cecilia is a former Thomson Reuters financial journalist. She runs the educational site OoberKidsRepublic (www.ooberkidsrepublic.com) and ‘Money Factor – A Kid’s Guide to Money and Finance’ in different London schools, in after-school clubs and home-educating communities. She sees Money Factor as Horrible Histories for finance: it’s fun but it is also real and accurate. In the summer and half terms, she also runs ‘Viaggio in Italia’, a journey in Italian history, culture and language.
